The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) has not participated in Take Our Kids to Work (TOKTW) Day in recent years. This was a Provincial initiative that is no longer supported, which makes it difficult for LDSB to continue the program. Therefore, we have not promoted the program within schools.

The Limestone District School Board is committed to fostering accessibility and inclusion for all. We are currently developing our next Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and invite feedback from students, staff, families, and community members.

On October 3, 2025, Global News featured Marshall Billings, a Grade 8 student at Cataraqui Woods Elementary School, who designed a shirt for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. This shirt was available for purchase through the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day are held annually on September 30. This day invites us to engage intentionally in learning about the Residential School System, and the true history of relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

The City of Kingston, in partnership with community agencies and local school boards, including Limestone DSB, are conducting an optional survey to better understand how students travel to and from school in Kingston.
