Limestone District School Board has not participated in Take Our Kids To Work (TOKTW) Day in recent years. This was a Provincial initiative that is no longer supported, which makes it difficult for LDSB to continue the program. We have not promoted the program within schools.

Here are a few frequently asked questions and answers regarding TOKTW Day:

Question: My work is allowing me to bring my child to work on November 6th for Take Our Kids To Work Day. How is their attendance marked - does this count as a school activity?

Answer: If parents choose to take their LDSB students to work with them, it would be considered a parent-approved absence, as it is not a school activity.

QuestionI work for LDSB, at a different school then my child attends, and would like to bring my child to work on Nov 6th for Take Our Kids To Work Day. Is that ok?

Answer: As LDSB is not participating, LDSB students cannot go to a school location with their parents.  LDSB isn’t participating in TOKTW, so there is no insurance coverage for LDSB students.

If families have any additional questions about TOKTW Day, please reach out to your student(s)' administration.
