Dear Families,
We want to inform you about a potential disruption to bus and van transportation by Stock Transportation, one of Tri-Board Transportation’s service providers. This service disruption is due to ongoing contract negotiations between drivers and monitors, and their employer, Stock Transportation.
If an agreement is not reached, a potential disruption to school bus services for students who ride bus routes operated by Stock Transportation could begin as early as Monday, February 24, 2025, both in our area, and everywhere Stock Transportation operates. In the event of a service disruption, affected families will need to make alternative arrangements for their students' travel to and from school. Routes not operated by Stock Transportation will continue to operate as planned, subject to regular cancellations or delays (e.g., due to weather conditions).
We recognize that any disruption of services will affect students and their families, and we will work together to minimize any impact this may cause on student learning. Affected families have received a message directly from Tri-Board Transportation.
As neither Tri-Board nor the school boards are the employer, we are not at the negotiating table. We are hopeful that negotiations will resume as soon as possible. We believe bus drivers and bus monitors do an excellent job transporting our students safely to and from school, and we hope that both parties can reach an agreement soon.
The safety of our students remains our priority, and if service disruption does occur, our school communities will work collaboratively to ensure a safe drop off and pick up zone for all students.
We remain committed to keeping families informed as new information becomes available and encourage you to check the Tri-Board and school board websites often for the latest news and updates.
Thank you,
Limestone District School Board
