Across the Limestone District School Board, teachers and schools are working to enhance the experience of First Nation, Métis and Inuit students, and are highlighting Indigenous teachings and perspectives for all students.

To achieve these goals, the Board has:

  • culturally-enriched elementary and secondary programs for First Nation, Métis and Inuit students;

  • offers special events that allow students to receive teachings from Elders and traditional knowledge keepers;

  • an Aboriginal Advisory Council to provide guidance on educational and cultural matters; and

  • an Indigenous Self-Identification program to allow our schools to better understand and meet the educational needs of our for First Nation, Métis and Inuit students.
