School board trustees are locally-elected representatives of the public, and they are the community’s advocates for public education.  School boards also have Student Trustees, elected by students of the district. Limestone has three student trustees representing urban, rural and Indigenous students of the board.

Trustees sets the vision, develops policies, allocates resources, and sets the goals that lay the foundation driving programs and operations in the board. Collectively, they create the multi-year strategic plan for student achievement and well-being and recruit and monitor the performance of the Director of Education to ensure progress in meeting the board's goals.

The current nine-member Board of Trustees will serve until November 30, 2022.

The Limestone District School Board is situated on traditional territories of the Anishinaabe & Haudenosaunee.
