Investing Together In Our Students' Future
Through shared responsibility and community partnership, the Limestone Learning Foundation enhances the quality of public education, maximizing the learning opportunities for every student served by the Limestone District School Board.
"Investing together in our student’s future" is the motto of the Limestone Learning Foundation, a registered charitable organization established by the Limestone District School Board in 1999, to enhance public education by raising money for projects and initiatives that could not otherwise be offered by the Board.
The Limestone Learning Foundation funds special projects in the focus areas of Literacy & Numeracy, Science & Technology, the Arts, and Innovative Practices, which enhance educational opportunities for students in the Limestone District School Board. Funded programs demonstrate creativity, innovation, empowerment, and excellence and ensure that an increasing range of educational opportunities will be available for all students, now and in the future.
It is through shared responsibility and community partnerships that student opportunities will be truly enhanced. The Limestone Learning Foundation is a proactive approach taken by the Limestone District School Board to ensure that the children we serve receive the education they need for the future.
We depend solely upon donations and grants from interested individuals, businesses, service organizations, and charitable Foundations to enable us to work for elementary and secondary students in the Limestone District School Board. As a public, non-profit Foundation with charitable status, all gifts are completely tax deductible, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
The Learning Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors with representatives from our communitities throughout our district. The Foundation accepts donations from individuals, corporations, and organizations interested in furthering excellence in public education. With the future in mind, the Limestone Learning Foundation has also established a permanent Endowment Fund for In Memoriam gifts, bequests, annuities and other planned giving options to ensure the long-term continuity, stability, and sustainability of the work of the Learning Foundation.
