Welcome to the 2008
Limestone Sport Stacking
Championship! What is the Limestone Sports Stacking Championship? The Limestone Sport Stacking Championship is a great event that invites Stockers from all over Kingston and beyond to come together for a wonderful day of Sport Stacking. We want everyone to come and have fun, try their best and meet lots of new people who like Sport Stacking as much as they do! Where is the event? The event takes place at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. The Gymnasium is located close to the corner of King Street West and Country Club Drive. What time does it start?
Registration pick-up starts at 8:30 sharp! Stackers must pick up their
registration package between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. The registration booth closes at
9:30 a.m. sharp! We can’t guarantee registration pick-up after that time. This
year, we have an order of events with approximate times for each event. Please
note that times are approximate. Stockers should be present at the venue at
least 45 minutes before their scheduled event. We will make
every
attempt to stay on time; however the times are
based on last year’s number of Stackers. The schedule is subject to change based
on the number of -Stackers and the number of
Where can I park? There is limited- parking just outside the gymnasium. We suggest you do one of the following:
Give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking. This will save you the headache of having to move your vehicle if you park it too close to the gymnasium. Please Note: You will be subject to ticketing if you are parked in the wrong space. St. Lawrence College has kindly donated the Gymnasium space for this event. Please respect their parking procedures. Who can participate? . . . . Anyone who knows how to stack! The young and the old who ore young at heart. . Please refer to the registration form for all of the age categories. There are individual events - the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, and the cycle. For those stackers who get organized there is also a team event – the timed 3-6-3 Relay. How do I register a participant? Schools from around Kingston that have a Sport Stacking Team will receive registration forms for Individual Stockers and for Relay Teams. If you are interested in participating in the event and your school does not have a team, you con contact the Championship Director, Dan Kimmerer. Check out the contact information on this information sheet. What does my child need to bring? We are asking that each stacker use his/her own set of cups. Schools need to make sure that students have stacks with them for the event. This may mean that schools have a sign-out system for their students. There will be a limited number of cups available to sign out for the event. Besides cups, each participant should bring a positive attitude and a friendly smile. If they get hungry, there will be a canteen selling snacks, drinks and pizza. If stackers are interested in a souvenir of the event, there will be a limited number of Championship T-shirts for sale, at a cost of $15. How do I make sure my child is a Relay Team Member? Relay Teams are formed by your child’s Sport Stacking coach and must be registered before Thursday, March 27. There is no Relay Team registration on the day of the Championships. Teams of four stackers compete in a timed 3-6-3 Relay. Teams of five are recommended to ensure that teams aren’t disappointed if one of their members can’t make it on the day. Teams can either have an alternate, or can rotate the 5th member into the competition. The age group that a Relay Team competes in is determined by their oldest Stacker; Who looks after my child? A parent or guardian is responsible for the supervision of their child during the duration of the event. lf arrangements have been made through the school, the coach can be responsible for student Stackers. There should not be any participants without an adult present that assumes the responsibility for their care. Where do parents/guardians and spectators sit? Parents and spectators should sit in the bleachers to get the best view of the Stockers. This year, we have moved the competition tables so that they face the spectator area; Please Note: Absolutely no parents/guardians are allowed in the warm-up and competition areas. If you need to speak to your child during the event please arrange a meeting point in the stands: If you enter the warm-up or competition area, you will be asked to leave. Each school will be allowed two special passes for Coaches only.. . . . . Can, I take pictures? . . This .year we will, be providing a decorated photo corner where parents can take pictures of the ‘Stockers away from the warm-up and competition area. Please take time to use the Picture Corner instead of disrupting the warm-up and competition times for photos. For More information, please contact Dan Kimmerer at Bayridge Public School.
