The Limestone Elementary School Athletics Association is the committee responsible for the inter-school sports programs in the Limestone District School Board. This page is intended to make available to all elementary schools in the Limestone District information pertaining to all inter-school sports in the district. For more information on the organization and structure of LESAA please refer to the LESAA constitution. Meet and tournament information, rules and regulations regarding the various events, dates for events, news updates, district tournaments (divisions, dates, locations, conveners, results), as well as any other pertinent information for all sports will be available through this page.

Coaches: 

You must register you runners online. Click here for instructions.
Register a runner even if there is only a chance they may run. It is easier to scratch them than add them on the day of the meet.


No walkers/ joggers to be entered in any race. If your athlete cannot run the distance continuously in practice, DO NOT ENTER HIM/HER IN THE RACE.

Entry Fee: 
$3.00 per participant. Fees are to be collected by the coach 
prior to race day. Please bring the entry fees for your team to the registration 
table upon arrival (located near the start line)
. Participation ribbons will be issued 
to you at this time.

To qualify for the district meet a competitor must have:

finished in the top 30 runners in their regional meet

bullet

be a member of one of the top 3 teams in their regional meet (will be eligible only if the team competes)

 

Weather
Cross Country Running is traditionally run rain or shine. Rain, wind and 
heat are a few of the uncontrollable conditions that make Cross Country Running 
unique. In the event of electrical storm conditions, please tune into the radio 
station FLY 98.3 FM for an update or for a cancellation.

A canteen will be available for students to purchase: hot dogs, drinks and snacks.

Coach’s Field Notes:

 In order to ensure the meet is a success there are a number of things you and your 
athletes need to know:

Make sure to register your runners on line by the deadline.

bullet

Please note that teams cannot be register at the meet.

bullet

Upon arrival, be sure to pick up your name tags and participation ribbons at the finish
line
. Do not pin the tag, peel it off and stick it to the shirt.

bullet

Each coach’s should download course maps from this site.

bullet

Coaches should walk  their team around the course before the 10:30 a.m. start time;

bullet

Athletes must be wearing a pinned name tag (label) with his/her name

bullet

Order of races: Atom Girls, Atom Boys, Bantam Girls, Bantam Boys, Midget 
Girls, Midget Boys;

bullet

Each coach is responsible for collecting finishing cards, completing the team 
scoring sheet (top 4 count, with the 4th runner’s position to break ties), and 
returning it to the scorer’s table located at the end of the finisher’s chute 
immediately following each race; there will be no calculation of overall meet 
school rankings;

bullet

Individual results boards will be posted near the canteen as soon as possible
following each race and team results will be announced at the end of the Meet;

bullet

Individual medals to the top 10, in each age category, will be awarded
immediately following each race as athletes exit the finish chute 

bullet

medals will be awarded to the top 3 people of each team in all categories will 
be awarded at the end of the Meet; 

bullet

Please ensure that your athletes are well supervised and stay clear of each race 
and the finish chute area;

bullet

Garbage bags are available at the finish line. Please encourage your athletes to file their garbage in the right place;

bullet

Washrooms are available near the start line;
