Strategic Plan

The Limestone District School Board is embarking on its new strategic plan that will help guide its work over the next five years – and we need your help.

The purpose of a strategic plan is to set priorities and focus our energy and resources on areas that support our mission: We prepare students within safe and inclusive environments to embrace a changing world as lifelong learners and informed, responsible citizens, and to help us realize our new vision: As a community of engaged and innovative learners everyone achieves success and well-being. Before the Board of Trustees work with staff to develop these priorities, we want to hear from our stakeholders and what role they think schools should play in our communities across our district.

From early December to early February, stakeholders – students, families, staff, community partners and the general public – will be invited to provide their input and feedback on The Road Ahead: Navigating the Future of Education Together. The Board has organized a number of ways to solicit this input including an online survey, telephone town halls, identification of priority areas, Twitter chats, and face-to-face meetings. The Road Ahead graphic

The new multi-year plan will replace Success For All – Strategic Directions: 2009-2016.

What we want to know
  • What does Limestone do already to realize our vision: As a community of engaged and innovative learners everyone achieves success and well-being?
  • How can we enhance a culture of engagement and innovation in Limestone?
  • How can we enhance a culture of success and well-being in Limestone?
How you can get involved

Thank you to everyone who participated in our various feedback opportunities including an online survey, telephone survey, prioritization activity, Twitter chat and face-to-face feedback sessions.

How we will use your input

The input received during the consultation process will help the Board of Trustees identify key areas and expectations on where we should focus our work. In addition to feedback from stakeholders, the process will include research and a review of effective practices in education, Board and ministry data, and expectations of the Ministry of Education. We hope to share a draft plan in late spring 2017.
