Grade 9 to 12 students enrolled in Limestone schools are eligible for a free Kingston Transit Pass to encourage them to ride the bus to access recreational programs, volunteer opportunities, jobs or school programs through a partnership with the City of Kingston. The free bus passes were first offered to Grade 9 students in 2012-2013 and has since been expanded to include both Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 students.
The passes build on the already established Kingston Gets Active, a community-wide partnership of organizations including school boards and the City of Kingston throughout Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Counties. The Community Activity Pass program program offers Grade 9 students free access to recreation programs, such as swimming and skating, during the school year.
