SEAC Responsibilities

Making Recommendations to the Board

SEAC, through the regular monthly meeting, reports to the Board. Each Board meeting agenda contains the monthly SEAC report. Through this process SEAC has a communication channel to the Board and is involved and/or informed about areas such as Board placement options, staff development and the delivery of Special Education programs and services.

Participation in the Review of the Special Education Plan

The Special Education Plan was updated cooperatively by the Supervising Principal, Principal, and other members of the Educational Services Leadership Team. The updated plan was shared with SEAC members on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Participation in the Development of the Board’s annual budget for Special Education

Consultation regarding special education budget matters has taken place through presentation to the SEAC.
