Student Success - Reach Every Student: Mathematical Literacy

Mathematical literacy is an individual’s capacity to use mathematics as a fully functioning member of a society. This ability has been idenified as a critical skill for every student to support their success. Mathematical literacy means more than using a calculator or following procedures. It allows members of our society to estimate, interpret data, reason in mathematical situations and solve day-to-day problems. In short it is part of success in every pathway our students will follow.

The Limestone District School Board is committed to supporting the development of mathematical literacy in each student. We will be adding resources to this area of the website in the near future.
