Choices at Seven
The Limestone District School Board Choices at Seven programs offer opportunities for students entering Grade 7 to participate in a variety of unique learning environments. Depending on the availability of places in the programs, students currently in Grade 7 may also apply to join a program for their Grade 8 year.

  • All applications are due by Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 4:00 pm.   
  • Please note that late applications will not be accepted.

        Please bring your completed LEAP cover sheet with you to the day of the workshop.

Please submit your completed application package directly to your extended French school site (Vanier, Acadie or Harrowsmith P.S.)

WORKSHOP DATES

Applicants who are invited to participate in the Challenge, LEAP, ATLAS workshops will be notified by the Registrar regarding a date and time. Workshops will take place during the first three weeks of April.

The Challenge Program is designed to meet the needs of academically motivated and/or formally identified gifted students who are seeking new learning challenges while maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

The Extended French/Late Immersion Program is designed to enhance students’ skills in oral communication, reading and writing in French. It is one of the Choices at 7 programs offered to students in the LDSB. This program is open to all LDSB students and follows The Ontario Curriculum 2013 French as a Second Language Core French Grades 4-8 Extended French Grades 4-8 French Immersion Grades 1-8 for French Language instruction.
Transportation for French Immersion Students is provided and can be arranged though Triboard Transportation.

Extended French students have the option of continuing their French studies to Grade 12. In order to receive the Limestone District Certificate of French Study (Extended) students must complete seven immersion credits (four of which must be in Language studies).

The Limestone Education through the Arts Program (LEAP) allows students to learn the Grade 7 and 8 curriculum through an integrated, hands-on approach that uses arts as a foundation.

The Applying Technology for Learning, Aptitude and Success program is designed to provide focused, structured learning opportunities for students who are experiencing significant difficulties with communication and organization, and whose academic performance is not necessarily reflective of their potential.
