General information when applying for positions with the Limestone District School Board
• The Board does not accept applications unless they are in response to a specific job advertisement.
• Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
• Personal acknowledgement of receipt of your application as well as feedback on why you were not short-listed is unfortunately not possible.
Teaching Positions
All candidates interested in applying to the Limestone District School Board for elementary or secondary permanent or occasional teaching positions will be required to apply on-line through appytoeducation.ca once the Board has placed an advertisement for same. We encourage all interested applicants to monitor both the Limestone and applytoeducation sites on a regular basis. Please visit applytoeducation.ca to complete your on-line application. Generally the following documents will need to be included with your on-line application, but please refer to each individual job posting as the documents required may vary depending on the job being advertised
• Covering Letter
• Resume
• Ontario College of Teachers - Certificate of Registration *
* not applicable for current Faculty of Education students
• Ontario College of Teachers - Certificate of Qualifications *
* not applicable for current Faculty of Education students
• Practicum Teaching Reports (if new graduate)
• Three signed and dated Professional Letters of Reference
Your on-line application must include all documents listed or it will be noted as incomplete and receive no further consideration.
Permanent Teaching Positions
If permanent elementary or secondary teaching positions become available for external hire the vacancy will be posted on both the Limestone web site under employment opportunities and applytoeducation.ca.
Occasional Teacher Positions
We anticipate that external advertisements for elementary and secondary occasional teachers for September, 2010 will occur in the Spring.
Please note that if you have already registered with applytoeducation, you will still need to apply to each specific job posting for which you are qualified.
The Board will not accept any applications packages which are not submitted through applytoeducation and are not attached to a specific job posting number.
Applytoeducation will allow you to select a job alert feature which will send you an e-mail each and every time Limestone posts a position that matches your search criteria.
Support Staff Positions
• Support positions which are not filled internally will be advertised externally through this website and may also appear in the local newspapers The Limestone District School Board does not accept electronic resumes for support staff positions.
